Install or update SpringBrand cli https://plugin.springbrand.ai/INSTALL.cli.codex.mdYour agent installs the SpringBrand CLI and connects to the MCP server. Connect your account with an API key from Account Settings → MCP API Keys, or authorize in your browser.
When your agent confirms setup, restart it and open a new conversation. Try: Discover available SpringBrand tools and show a read-only summary
What the setup prompt does
The SpringBrand MCP server follows a discover-then-run pattern. Your agent searches the catalog for an operation that matches the task, reads its input contract, then runs it and reads the result.
Discovery and schema lookups never execute anything, so your agent can explore safely before it commits to a run. Some operations ask you to connect a third-party account the first time; the agent tells you which one is missing.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| search_tools | Find operations that match a task description |
| get_tool_schemas | Read the input and output contract of an operation |
| execute_tools | Run one or more operations |
| get_execution | Read the status and saved result of a run |
| manage_connections | List the third-party accounts an operation needs and check their status |
ChatGPT Desktop, Codex CLI, Claude Code CLI, Claude Desktop, WorkBuddy, DeepSeek Harness, Gemini CLI and Cursor. Any other host that supports remote MCP servers can connect to https://connector.springbrand.ai/mcp.
You can use an API key from Account Settings → MCP API Keys, or sign in with OAuth in your browser. Your agent never prints the key in its reports.
It installs the SpringBrand CLI through npm (Node.js 18+), writes the selected agent’s MCP, plugin and skill settings, and keeps CLI settings under ~/.springbrand. With API-key sign-in, the key is also saved to your shell profile. If your agent runs in a restricted session, it asks before running each command.
Eligible API and plugin calls draw from your shared SpringBrand credit balance. One API call uses 1+ credits; an agent task uses about 15–40 credits, depending on its steps, tools and run time.
Send the setup prompt again. It updates the CLI and your agent’s SpringBrand connection.
Pick your agent, send one prompt, and start your first task.
