A Google Drive MCP server lets an AI client such as Claude, Cursor or Codex discover and call Google Drive tools through the Model Context Protocol: searching files, reading supported content and managing folders with the connected account's access. What it can read or change depends on the specific server, its tool list and the permissions you grant.
Choose a file-search, folder-organization, or sharing example. See the source, proposed actions, and output before connecting an account.

WriteA Google Drive MCP server exposes file tools to an AI client through the Model Context Protocol. The client can discover the available operations and request file search, supported content reading, or file-management actions using the connected account’s access.
The useful part is the task you can complete: locate a campaign brief, pull out the next steps, or prepare a filing plan for a project. The Agent combines the tools that are available, while access stays subject to the connected account and the integration’s permissions.
Different Google Drive MCP servers expose different capabilities. Use the tool list and connection guide to check what a provider supports. Drive file management can also be combined with a separate Docs or Sheets integration when you need to edit document content or spreadsheet cells.
Find a document by name, type, or supported content search. Keep the returned file link so you can verify the source.
Use readable file content to prepare a summary with source links. Content extraction depends on the MCP server and file format.
Prepare a structure for briefs, assets, and reports. Review the destination for each file before applying an organization plan.
Check which file-management tools the Google Drive MCP server exposes, then review the selected file and destination before a write action.
Check the recipient, file, and proposed access level. Keep permission changes visible for review before sharing working documents.
Use supported file-transfer tools to bring a deliverable into the next workflow step. Confirm the destination and supported file types first.
Build an inventory of names, file types, and modification dates. Use it to plan a content review or identify files to reorganize.
Combine Google Drive MCP file tools with compatible document or spreadsheet integrations when a task also needs content or cell editing.
Review the server’s file search, content reading, and folder tools. Confirm that the operations and formats cover the task you want to complete.
Review the permissions, authorize the connection, and follow the provider’s client-specific setup.
Start with a document search or summary. Review the source and result before continuing with changes.
Start with a folder inventory, then group files by project or type. A Google Drive folder organization workflow should show each source file and proposed destination. The example above keeps Documents, Images, and Spreadsheets separate so the filing plan is easy to review.
Find the project brief or meeting notes, read the supported content, and extract decisions and next steps. A document summary should preserve source links and flag any unreadable sections. Check the original before turning an extracted action into a team commitment.
Use Google Drive file search to locate the draft and campaign brief. Compare their topics and dates, then prepare a review copy with a compatible writing tool. Keep the original source and suggested changes together so editors can assess the update.
List the briefs, working files, and final deliverables a client needs. Review Google Drive sharing permissions for each file, including the intended recipient and viewer, commenter, or editor access. The handoff example proposes changes without applying them.
Use authorized research tools to prepare findings, then choose a Drive folder for the report and supporting sources. Google Drive MCP can supply file operations when supported; a compatible Docs or Sheets integration handles document formatting or spreadsheet editing.

It is a connector that lets an AI client discover and call tools for Google Drive through the Model Context Protocol. What it can read or change depends on the specific server, its tool list, and the permissions of the connected account.
You can explore curated examples, search the illustrative tool catalog, and preview client setup. This page does not connect to Google Drive or run tasks against your files.
This page’s examples are available without signing in. Production pricing and usage limits depend on the integration and the current SpringBrand plan; check the pricing page before connecting. No free trial or per-tool price is promised here.
Setup requirements depend on the provider. A managed connector may handle parts of authorization, while Google’s own MCP setup has separate prerequisites. This page does not collect credentials or issue a live server URL. Follow the chosen integration’s verified setup instructions.
These clients support MCP connections, but transport, authorization, account access, and supported tools must match the selected server. The tabs above demonstrate the setup layout; SpringBrand’s Google Drive client compatibility still needs end-to-end verification.
A workflow can combine compatible tools when each connection is configured and authorized. For example, a Drive file could provide the context for a draft in Google Docs or an update in Slack. Related-app cards without a guide on this site open a preview only.
Access is limited by the connected account, its granted scopes, organization policies, and the server’s supported file types. A connector does not automatically grant access to every file or shared drive.
For Google Drive MCP for Claude, first confirm the server supports your particular Claude client and its connection method. For Google Drive MCP for Cursor, confirm that the configured server appears in the client’s tool list. Start with a read-only file search, open the returned source, and verify it belongs to the connected account before testing write actions. The setup tabs here are illustrative; they do not verify a live connection.
File discovery and file-content extraction are separate capabilities. A server may list a PDF without being able to extract its text, and shared-drive support varies by provider. Check supported file types, granted scopes, and organizational restrictions. If a summary is incomplete, inspect the original document and report the missing content rather than treating a partial extraction as the full source.
Drive file management and document or spreadsheet editing are different capabilities. Check the actual tool manifest; you may need a Google Docs or Google Sheets integration for editing content or cells.
Check the connected account, the file’s location, and whether the selected server supports the requested search filter. Confirm that the account can open the source file directly. A missing result may reflect access or search limitations, so it does not prove the document was deleted. The search box on this page filters the example tool catalog, not your Drive files.
Choose a connector and authorization scope that support the read-only operations you need, then inspect its actual tool list. Start by locating a known file and checking its metadata or supported content. This page labels illustrative tools as Read or Write; those labels do not configure permissions on a live Google account.
Start with a document search, a readable summary, or a folder plan. Explore the sample result, then review the tools and connection your task would need.
