AI SDR

Find the accounts, enrich the records and draft the first message. Your outreach tool does the sending.

Updated

An AI SDR does the research half of a sales development rep's job: finding accounts that fit, enriching each record, and drafting a reason to reach out. SpringBrand routes Apollo, Google Maps and People Data Labs for accounts and records, plus search and social sources for context. It drafts messages but does not send email or store contacts, so outreach stays in your sales engagement tool.

Describe your ideal account

Write one sentence about who you sell to: the industry, the size, the location and anything they must already use or have just done. The AI SDR searches the routed lead sources for matching accounts, enriches each record, and returns the list with a specific reason to reach out for every account, ready for you to review.

What the AI SDR handles

An AI SDR covers the four research jobs a sales development rep repeats every week: building the account list, enriching each record, finding a reason to reach out, and drafting the first message. Each card below links to the page that covers that job in depth, including which provider does the work and where SpringBrand stops.

What an AI SDR is, and where this one stops

A sales development rep spends most of the week on research: building a list, checking each account, and finding something worth saying. An AI SDR automates that research so the rep's time goes to conversations. This one works from a plain-language description of your ideal customer and returns a researched list with drafts.

It deliberately stops before sending. There is no email delivery, sequencing, lead scoring or contact database in SpringBrand, and no scheduled refresh. Export the list to your CRM or sales engagement platform, and use the lead enrichment guide for the full split of what runs where.

Build a target account list from one sentence

The first job of an AI SDR is turning an ideal customer profile into a list of real companies. You write the profile as a sentence, not a stack of filters: who they sell to, how large they are, where they operate and what has just changed. SpringBrand sends that description to the routed lead sources and returns the accounts that match.

Apollo covers sales intelligence, Google Maps covers local businesses and People Data Labs covers people and company records. Coverage and record quality belong to those providers, so a list for dental groups in Ohio will lean on Google Maps, while a list of software companies will lean on Apollo and People Data Labs. The Lead Enrichment Tools guide covers this step in detail.

Enrich each account with firmographics and people data

Enrichment adds the fields a rep needs before deciding whether an account is worth a call: company size, location, industry and the people who hold the relevant roles. The AI SDR runs enrichment through the same three providers on one SpringBrand balance, so there is one connection and one bill rather than three subscriptions and three exports.

The enriched record also includes what the company says about itself, read from its own site with Firecrawl or Apify. That is often more current than a database field. The SpringBrand APIs page lists the providers that are routed today and what each one returns.

Find a reason to reach out from public sources

A reason to reach out is a specific, recent fact that makes the first message relevant: a product launch, a new office, a hiring push or a thread where customers complain about the incumbent tool. The AI SDR looks for these in Google and Exa search results, on the company's own pages, and in the routed social sources.

Those social sources are Reddit, X, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and RedNote, read rather than posted to. The same research powers Social Media Automation, which covers finding what people are talking about in a category before you write anything.

Check how a prospect shows up in search

For many businesses, search is where buyers first meet them, so how a prospect ranks is useful context for a sales conversation. The AI SDR can search the queries a prospect's buyers are likely to use, see whether the prospect appears, read the pages that outrank it and summarise the gap, using the same search and page-reading tools as SEO Automation.

This is a snapshot, not tracking. There is no rank tracking or keyword volume database in SpringBrand, so the output is a researched observation for the rep to use in an opening line, not a report to send the prospect as fact.

Draft the first message and hand it off

The last research step is a first-touch draft for each account that uses the reason to reach out, so the opening line is specific instead of a template. The drafts come back with the list, ready to paste into the email or sequencing tool that sends them, where your team edits and approves them.

SpringBrand stops at the draft on purpose. It does not send email, run sequences, score leads or keep a contact database, and there is no scheduled refresh. Sending domains, deliverability and reply handling belong to a sales engagement platform, and the researched list moves there as a one-time handoff.

Run the AI SDR from your own assistant

Sales teams that already work in an AI assistant can run the same research without opening a separate app. SpringBrand connects over MCP, so Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and WorkBuddy can call the lead, search and page-reading tools directly, and the list is built in the session where the rest of the work already happens.

Setup takes a few minutes per assistant. The install guides for AI agents walk through each one, including how to sign in so runs spend credits from your SpringBrand account.

AI SDR vs a human SDR vs a sales engagement platform

An AI SDR, a human SDR and a sales engagement platform each own a different part of outbound. The AI SDR does the research hours: lists, enrichment, reasons to call and drafts. The human SDR owns conversations and judgement. The platform owns sending, sequences and the contact record. Most teams need all three, with clear handoffs between them.

AI SDR questions

These are the questions sales teams ask before trusting an AI SDR with their pipeline research: whether it sends email, which data sources it uses, and whether it can replace a person. The answers follow one rule. SpringBrand runs the research and the drafts; sending, scoring and storing contacts stay in the sales tools you already use.

  • Does the AI SDR send emails?

No. It drafts first-touch messages; sending, sequencing and reply handling stay in your sales engagement platform.

  • Which data sources does it use?

Apollo for sales intelligence, Google Maps for local businesses and People Data Labs for people and company records, plus Google, Exa and social sources for context. The SpringBrand APIs page lists the routed providers, and the Lead Enrichment Tools guide explains what each one is used for.

  • Can it replace a human SDR?

It replaces the research hours, not the conversations. Qualifying replies, booking meetings and judgement calls still need a person.

  • Does it score or store leads?

No. There is no lead scoring or contact database. The output is a list and the research behind it, exported to your CRM. The Lead Enrichment Tools guide shows where each part of lead generation belongs.

  • Can it refresh the list every week?

Not on its own. There is no cron or trigger in the product, so recurring refreshes need an external scheduler or a person to start them. You can also run the same research from your own assistant; see the install guides for AI agents.

  • Can the AI SDR check how a prospect shows up in search?

Yes, as part of the same session. The search and page-reading tools that power SEO Automation can search the queries a prospect's buyers use, show whether the prospect appears, and read what competitors say, which is useful context for an opening line. Rank tracking over time still needs a dedicated SEO tool.

Give your reps the researched list

Describe the account once and get a researched list with a reason to reach out for each company. The list moves into the CRM or sales engagement tool your team already uses, so the reps' time goes to conversations rather than tabs. New accounts start with free credits, so the first list costs nothing to try.

Related workflows for sales teams

The AI SDR combines several workflows that also stand on their own. These pages cover the list building and enrichment in depth, the social research that surfaces a reason to reach out, and the search research that tells you how a prospect shows up online. Each page states what SpringBrand runs and what stays in your tools.
