Invoice agent
Extracts invoice fields and flags gaps.
Finance · Example agentMicrosoft Power Automate builds cloud flows and desktop RPA inside Microsoft Power Platform. SpringBrand turns a job you describe in chat into an agent that runs in the cloud on schedule, posts results to Microsoft Teams or Slack, and gets better every run. Compare SpringBrand vs Power Automate on building, licences, connectors, RPA and cost.

Choose Power Automate when your work lives in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra work accounts: cloud flows across SharePoint, Teams and over 1,000 shared connectors, desktop flows that drive Windows and legacy apps with no API, and IT governance through Power Platform environments and Dataverse.
Choose SpringBrand as your Power Automate alternative when the job needs judgment rather than a fixed flow — research, screening, reporting or drafting — and you would rather describe it once in chat and get a hosted agent that runs on schedule, posts results to Microsoft Teams or Slack, and gets better every run.
SpringBrand has no flow designer and no desktop RPA, while building flows in Power Automate requires a Microsoft work or school account. Many teams use both: Power Automate for RPA and Microsoft 365 plumbing, SpringBrand for the agents.
Each row is a question people ask before they move work off Power Automate. Answers come from each product's public pages.
Swipe the table to compare both platforms.
| Your question | ||
|---|---|---|
| How do I build an agent? | Describe the job in chat and confirm the setup SpringBrand proposes, or fill in instructions, data sources, connected apps and skills in a form; no flow to build. | Build flows in the visual designer, from templates, or with Copilot where the tenant has AI enabled; generative actions, labelled preview, let the AI pick actions from your stated intent. |
| Where does it run? | SpringBrand's hosted cloud only; no self-hosted edition is published. | Microsoft's cloud; desktop flows on your Windows machines or Microsoft-hosted VMs with Hosted Process. |
| Can it drive desktop apps? | No. SpringBrand has no desktop RPA product. | Attended desktop flows on Premium, unattended on Process; Power Automate for desktop runs on Windows only. |
| What happens while I'm offline? | Agents run in the cloud 24/7; on paid plans, schedule a task by day, by week or at a set time and results arrive in Slack, Microsoft Teams or Lark. | Cloud flows run on Microsoft's infrastructure, triggered automatically, instantly or on a schedule; unattended desktop flows need the Process licence. |
| How does it get better? | Each agent learns from results and feedback and remembers your preferences, formats and usual tools for the next run. | A flow runs the steps you set until you edit it; generative actions, in preview, choose actions from your stated intent inside a flow. |
| What can it connect to? | A marketplace of ready-made Agents, Skills and 10,000+ APIs and plugins, built-in search, social, SEO and sales data, your own Gmail, Slack or HubSpot, and your company knowledge base. | Over 1,000 connectors shared across Power Platform, and 400+ prebuilt desktop-flow actions; premium and custom connectors need a paid licence. |
| What limits will I hit? | 1 agent at a time on Free, 2 on Plus, 5 on Pro and 20 on Max; each run can last up to 5 min on Free and up to 4 h on Max. | Daily action limits: 6k per user on Free, 40k on Premium, 250k per Process licence. |
| Who on my team can use it? | A SpringBrand account, no Microsoft tenant needed; anyone with an agent's link can run it. Team plans add Owner, Admin and Member roles and pooled credits, and Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM. | A Microsoft work or school account for full use; personal accounts get a smaller feature set, and flows cannot be shared on the Free licence. |
| What will it cost? | Paid plans from $29 a month, or $23 billed annually, for 3,000 credits; Pro $59 for 12,000 and Max $199 for 30,000; an agent task uses about 15–40 credits. | Per user or per bot: Premium $15.00 user/month, Process $150.00 bot/month, paid yearly. |
| Where can I start for free? | Free plan: 300 credits on signup, then 100 a month; no credit card, 1 agent at a time. | Power Automate Free: cloud flows with standard connectors only, 6k daily actions, and flows cannot be shared. |
Tell SpringBrand what you need in plain language. It proposes the agent's setup, you confirm it, and the same conversation becomes the agent you run again — with its instructions, its tools and what it learned from earlier runs. There is no trigger to pick and no flow to build.
Prefer to set it up yourself? Fill in the same four parts in a form: instructions, data sources (APIs), connected apps such as Gmail or Google Sheets, and skills. In Power Automate you pick a trigger, then add actions and connectors in the flow designer, from a template, or with Copilot if your organization has AI enabled — a good fit when the flow is stable and lives inside your Power Platform environment.

The SpringBrand marketplace has three shelves: ready-made Agents by function — Sales, Marketing, HR and more — Skills that add expertise such as financial modelling, and APIs for data and tools. Start from a ready-made agent, or add a skill or API to your own.
Credits work across 10,000+ APIs and plugins. Search, social, SEO and sales data are built in — no API keys, including official Ahrefs and Semrush API access — so ten tool subscriptions and ten bills become one subscription and one bill.
Power Automate shares over 1,000 connectors with the rest of Power Platform, and premium and custom connectors sit behind paid licences. Microsoft publishes a filtered reference of the connectors available in Power Automate; check the exact system and action there, and in the SpringBrand marketplace, before you move a flow.

Upload documents, guidelines and product material to a company knowledge base, and agents follow that context in their answers and output. Connect Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack or HubSpot once, and the agent reads from and writes to them inside the permissions you set.
Compare SpringBrand vs Power Automate on that output for one representative job. Power Automate generative actions, labelled preview, let the AI pick actions from a stated intent inside a flow; SpringBrand runs the whole task from a description and your company context. Check the result, the account each needs, and what each run cost.

Schedule a task by day, by week or at a set time, and your agent runs it in the cloud while you are offline. Results and alerts land where your team works — Slack, Microsoft Teams or Lark — and you can @mention the agent in a channel to hand over the next task.
Plus includes 3 daily scheduled tasks, Pro 20 that can run every 15 minutes and Max unlimited every 5 minutes. Power Automate cloud flows can be triggered automatically, instantly or on a schedule, within the daily action limits of your licence.
Each run teaches the agent your preferences, formats and usual tools, so later runs need fewer corrections. Start with a draft you review, then let the schedule take over once the output is right.

Most teams build and run agents in SpringBrand itself. If you already work in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, SpringBrand also runs as an MCP server and plugin there, with the same tools and data sources.

Power Automate prices read from Microsoft's pricing page on 2 September 2026 and re-checked 23 September 2026. Licences per user or bot and SpringBrand credits buy different things, so no like-for-like savings are implied. SpringBrand prices are in USD from springbrand.ai/pricing, read 23 October 2026; annual billing lowers each monthly price.
When comparing SpringBrand vs Power Automate pricing, work backward from a representative task. Record the full path to an acceptable result, then estimate the workload you expect each month.
Compare the model and amount of context used for the same task. A short summary and a long research session can consume very different amounts of inference.
Include the API and plugin actions needed to reach an output, plus any retries. A subscription price alone does not describe the cost of an agent workflow, and Power Automate licenses per user or per bot while SpringBrand counts credits, so price the same job end to end.
Estimate how often the job will run and who will use it. Check included usage, concurrency limits and top-up terms against that workload.
Find yourself below. Many teams end up using both.
Someone whose work needs judgment, or sits across tools outside Microsoft 365, and who would rather describe it than build a flow.
A team whose work already lives in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and Dataverse.
Flows built in Power Automate do not export to other automation tools, so switching is a rebuild. Start with the cloud flows that do research, screening or reporting, and write down what each takes in, which connectors it calls and what a good result looks like.
Rebuild one as a SpringBrand agent, in chat or with the form. Run both in parallel for a week before you switch the old flow off, and only switch once the agent's output is as good and the schedule fits. Desktop flows and work that depends on Dataverse or Microsoft 365 permissions are usually better left in Power Automate.

Map each Power Automate connector or action to an available SpringBrand capability. Reconnect accounts through the supported setup flow; check read and write permissions.
Identify the documents and reference material the task actually needs and add them to the company knowledge base; do not assume they transfer automatically.
Run the agent alongside the flow for a week, then set its schedule. Turn the flow off only after matching results; check time zones, duplicate runs and usage costs.

Answers on licences, desktop flows, approvals, team use, pricing and using both, based on each product's public pages listed in the sources below.
For work that needs judgment or sits outside Microsoft 365, it can be. SpringBrand is not a replacement inside a Microsoft 365 estate and has no desktop RPA. You describe the job in chat, review the result and save it as an agent that runs on schedule in SpringBrand's cloud, metered in credits. Flows that drive Windows apps, rely on Dataverse or need Microsoft 365 governance are a better fit for Power Automate.
Partly free, and yes. Microsoft publishes a Power Automate Free licence at no charge for work or school accounts in a Microsoft Entra tenant. It covers creating and running cloud flows with standard connectors only, with 6k daily actions per user, and Microsoft notes "You can't share flows when you use the Free license". Premium connectors, desktop RPA and AI Builder credits need Premium at $15.00 user/month paid yearly, and a 30-day free trial is also listed. Before you can create a workflow you need to sign up with a Microsoft work or school email address, registering it first if you have never used an online Microsoft product with it. A personal Microsoft account can sign in to Power Automate for desktop, but with a materially smaller feature set, and Microsoft's pricing page also lets non-business accounts such as @outlook.com reach the Free licence through Try free.
Microsoft describes it as a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favourite apps and services to synchronise files, get notifications and collect data. In practice it covers three jobs: event- and schedule-driven cloud flows across connected SaaS systems, desktop flows that drive Windows and web application interfaces where no API exists, and generative actions in preview where the AI selects the actions from your stated intent. It is the same product as Microsoft Flow: Microsoft's Power Platform blog states "We renamed Microsoft Flow to Power Automate in 2019", and flow.microsoft.com was redirected to make.powerautomate.com, a change Microsoft announced in June 2022. Workflows built inside the product are still called flows, which is why both names remain in circulation.
A cloud flow runs on Microsoft's infrastructure and is triggered automatically, instantly or on a schedule; it talks to systems through connectors, and you build it in a browser at make.powerautomate.com, so authoring is not tied to Windows. A desktop flow runs on a Windows machine and drives application user interfaces directly — through UI elements, images or coordinates — which is how it automates legacy terminal emulators and desktop apps that expose no API. Many real automations chain the two. Power Automate for desktop lists only Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016 through 2025; macOS is not among the supported operating systems, and devices with ARM processors aren't supported. Microsoft also documents two desktop-flow limits: the number of actions that can be logged in a single run is limited to 10,000 (extra actions still run but are not logged), and desktop flows in v1 schema environments can't exceed 100 MB in size, with Microsoft's advice being to split the logic into smaller flows.
Yes. The SharePoint connector is documented as a Standard connector available in Power Automate, and its triggers include "When an item is created", "When an item is created or modified" and "When a file is created (properties only)". Microsoft also notes a caveat worth knowing: if a list or library name contains a period and you pass it as a dynamic value, it errors, and you should select the list from the dropdown or use its ID instead.
Not automatically. No Power Automate import is offered. Write down the trigger, connectors, inputs and expected output of one cloud flow, rebuild it as a SpringBrand agent, and run both in parallel for a week before you switch the flow off. Desktop flows have no SpringBrand equivalent.
You decide what it can reach. It only uses the accounts and permissions you connect, and you review the result of a task before you save it as an agent or put it on a schedule. Many official agents prepare drafts — emails, replies, posts — for your team to review rather than sending them.
Yes. Share it with a link so colleagues can run it, or publish it to the marketplace. Team plans add Owner, Admin and Member roles and pooled credits, and Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM. Results can be posted to a Microsoft Teams, Slack or Lark channel, where colleagues can also @mention the agent to hand over a task.
Upload company documents to a company knowledge base and connect only the accounts you choose; the agent uses them to work with your context. For security details, see springbrand.ai/security; Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM. If your IT team governs every automation through Power Platform environments and Dataverse, keep that work in Power Automate.
Yes — and for many teams that is the right start. Keep the deterministic flows that already work in Power Automate, such as desktop RPA and SharePoint or Microsoft 365 flows, and move the research, writing, screening and reporting jobs that change from run to run to SpringBrand; its agents can post results to the same Teams channels.
Microsoft's pricing page lists Power Automate Premium at $15.00 user/month and Power Automate Process at $150.00 bot/month, both paid yearly. Hosted Process, which includes a Microsoft-hosted virtual machine, is $215.00 bot/month, and the Process Mining add-on is $5,000.00 per tenant per month. SpringBrand Plus is $29 a month, or $23 billed annually, for 3,000 credits; Pro is $59 for 12,000 and Max $199 for 30,000. One subscription covers the models, APIs and data an agent uses, a typical task uses about 15–40 credits, and top-ups are $5 per 1,000 credits. Licences per user or bot and credits buy different things, so price one real job on both. The licence-by-licence breakdown is in Microsoft Power Automate pricing.
Stay with Power Automate when your work lives in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and Dataverse, when you need desktop flows to drive Windows or legacy apps with no API, or when IT governs automation centrally through environments and Microsoft Entra work accounts. SpringBrand has no desktop RPA. You can also use both: Power Automate for RPA and Microsoft 365 plumbing, SpringBrand agents for research, screening and reporting.
