What this skill helps with

Anthropic’s PPTX skill covers PowerPoint files and templates. It explains how to read slide content, create a new deck with pptxgenjs, and edit an existing deck while preserving the relationships and structure of the file.

When to use it

Use it for a pitch deck, a product presentation, a template-based report or edits to existing slides. Choose the workflow according to whether the task starts with source content, a deck or a template.

What to bring

Provide the audience, objective, source content, desired slide count and visual references. When modifying a deck, include the original PPTX or POTX and identify layouts, branding and notes that should be kept.

What to expect

Expect an editable presentation and a visual review of its slides. Check alignment, overflow, typography and the exported file, rather than relying only on extracted text. The slide illustration is a sample.

How the skill works

Select the right approach

Start new decks with the creation workflow; use the template and package-editing workflow for existing presentations.

Design each slide deliberately

Use clear hierarchy and varied layouts that fit the content. Respect the deck’s canvas size, colour syntax and text spacing requirements.

Validate the deck visually

The source provides thumbnail and package-validation helpers. Inspect each slide and resolve clipping, broken relationships or misplaced elements.

Presentations skill questions

Can it edit an existing template?

Yes. The source covers existing decks and POTX templates, including preserving package structure when slides are duplicated or reordered.

Are the example slides generated here?

No. This page presents an illustrative output and source-backed instructions; it does not run a slide-generation service.
