SpringBrandvsRelay.app

A Relay.app alternative.
Rebuild the job, not the flow.

Relay.app shut down in September 2026 and its accounts and workflows were deleted. In SpringBrand you describe each job in plain language, review the result, save it as an agent and run it on a schedule.

THE SHORT VERSION

Your workflows are gone.
Pick where each job goes next.

Choose a workflow tool with native approval steps when a job must pause mid-run for a person to approve, add data or pick a path, because SpringBrand has no mid-run approval step.

Choose SpringBrand when you can describe the job in plain language, such as reviewing leads, screening candidates or following up on calls, and want it saved as an agent that runs on a schedule; a saved Relay.app build prompt is a ready first draft of its instructions.

THE PRACTICAL DIFFERENCES

Your questions, answered side by side.

Relay.app is closed, so this is not a feature race. Each row is a question Relay.app users ask when they move a job, with what SpringBrand does and what Relay.app offered.

01 / BUILD AN AGENT

Describe the job in chat.
Or fill in four parts.

Tell SpringBrand the job in plain language. It proposes the agent's setup — instructions, data sources, connected apps and skills — you confirm, and the same conversation becomes the agent's runner.

Prefer a form? Fill in the same four parts yourself. A Relay.app build prompt fits straight into the instructions, and the apps its steps touched become the connected apps.

  • In chat: describe the job and confirm the proposed setup
  • In a form: instructions, data sources, connected apps, skills
  • Run it once, review the result, then save it as an agent

Working in Claude Code?
Call SpringBrand from there too.

This is an extra way in, not the main one: SpringBrand's MCP server and plugin let Claude Code, Codex or Cursor call the same APIs and plugins, paid from the same credit balance.

Relay.app let you export MCP server definitions before it closed. Those definitions will not load anywhere else, but they list the actions your agent needed, which is a useful checklist when you reconnect apps.

03 / PROACTIVE AGENTS

It keeps working,
while you do something else.

Hand over a task and it keeps going in the cloud, 24/7, without you watching the page. A run can last up to 15 minutes on Plus, 60 minutes on Pro and 4 hours on Max.

A schedule, a teammate or an @mention in Slack can start an agent, and several can run at once: 2 on Plus, 5 on Pro and 20 on Max.

04 / MARKETPLACE

Agents, Skills and APIs.
One subscription, one bill.

The marketplace has three shelves: ready-made Agents by function, such as Sales, Marketing and HR; Skills that add expertise, such as financial modelling; and APIs for data and tools. Credits work across 10,000+ APIs and plugins.

Ten tool subscriptions and ten bills become one subscription and one bill. Search, social, SEO and sales data are built in with no API keys to manage, including official Ahrefs and Semrush API access.

List the apps your Relay.app workflows touched. Connections did not survive the shutdown, so connect Gmail, Slack, HubSpot or other accounts once in SpringBrand and check the actions each one allows before you rely on it.

05 / COMPANY KNOWLEDGE

Bring your company docs.
It gets better every run.

Upload documents, guidelines and product material to a company knowledge base, so the agent's answers and output follow your company's context.

Agents also improve after every run from the results and the feedback you give them, and remember your team's preferences and output formats.

Relay.app run history is gone unless you saved the CSV in your export. If you did, a few past runs make a good example of the output you expect from the new agent.

06 / SCHEDULED AGENTS

By day, by week or at a set time.
Results arrive where you work.

Schedule a task once and the agent runs it on time, every time, even while you are offline. Results and alerts are pushed to Slack, Microsoft Teams or Lark, such as a daily lead list or a weekly hiring update.

Scheduled tasks: 3 daily on Plus, 20 every 15 minutes on Pro, unlimited every 5 minutes on Max. The Free plan has none.

Recreate a Relay.app schedule only after one run has produced the result you expect, and check what happens when a source is missing or a tool call fails.

What changes the cost of an AI agent?

Work backward from one job: how often it ran in Relay.app, how many steps it took and which apps it used. That tells you the plan, the number of scheduled tasks and the credits you need.

01

Run frequency

Count how often each Relay.app workflow ran. That decides how many scheduled tasks you need and how often they run.

02

Work per run

An agent task uses about 15–40 credits depending on steps, tools and run time. Long research runs use more than a short summary.

03

Parallel work

If several jobs run at the same time, check how many agents your plan runs at once: 2 on Plus, 5 on Pro, 20 on Max.

CHOOSE FOR YOUR TEAM

Which way of working fits you?

Relay.app is closed, so the real choice is where each job goes next. Find the description that sounds like you.

Move to SpringBrand if you are…

An ops or sales lead whose Relay.app workflows reviewed leads, summarized calls or prepared weekly reports, and who can describe each one in a sentence.

  • A recruiter or HR manager who wants applications screened against the job description every week, with the final call left to people.
  • A small team that wants built-in research, SEO and sales data without managing API keys or separate tool bills.
  • Anyone who would rather have an agent that improves from feedback than a step list to maintain.
Explore SpringBrand

Move to another kind of tool if you are…

Running approval chains that must pause mid-run for a manager to approve, fill in data or pick a path: test a workflow tool with native approval steps.

  • Syncing records between apps that must move exactly the same way every time: a deterministic workflow tool fits better.
  • Required to self-host the automation or keep it inside your own infrastructure: choose a self-hosted tool.
  • Splitting the work: keep approval chains in an approval-step tool and move the research, screening and reporting jobs to SpringBrand.

SWITCHING FROM RELAY.APP

Move one job first.
Then the rest.

Relay.app is gone, so there is no importer and nothing left to export. Find your export zip if you saved one: each workflow folder holds a plain-language build prompt, the run history as CSV and the structure as JSON.

Pick the job that hurts most now that it has stopped. Paste its build prompt, or describe it from memory, as a SpringBrand task. Check the result against what Relay.app used to deliver, then save it as an agent and schedule it.

    Find the export

Search downloads and shared drives for the Relay.app export zip. Each workflow folder has a build prompt, a run-history CSV and a JSON structure.

  2. 02

    Describe the job

Paste the build prompt, or write the job from memory: inputs, the result you expect, who receives it and when.

  3. 03

    Reconnect apps

Relay.app deleted all connections. Connect Gmail, Slack, HubSpot or other accounts again and check the actions each one allows.

  4. 04

    Check, then schedule

Run the agent once, compare it with old run history if you have it, then save it and add the schedule.

Manual rebuild. Relay.app exports cannot be imported into SpringBrand or any other tool.
